How NOT to DO EVERYTHING this festive season

Dec 08, 2022

Feel like you're starting to lose your baubles and wondering how you are going to get through the next few weeks?

You're not alone!

First - I want to dispel a bit of a myth... There is no such thing as the ability to 'do everything', or 'have it all', all the time.

So, stop beating yourself up for not being able to achieve these things. No one can 'do everything' without a bit of compromise on at least one of those 'things'. Or without losing their baubles...

What I DO believe in, is putting the systems and support structures in place to optimise your success (and sanity).

HOW NOT TO 'DO EVERYTHING'

πŸŽ„ block out your calendar.

πŸŽ„ set up your out of office, email signatures and rules, and phone message bank to set expectations with clients.

πŸŽ„ communicate deadlines and office closures to your clients well in advance.

πŸŽ„ tweak your workflows to accommodate adjusted deadlines and no-work periods.

πŸŽ„ review your open jobs and see what you can complete in advance, delegate, or push out until the new year, to allow yourself some down-time.

Remember - trying to do 'everything' at the same time usually means 'everything' suffers. So, rather than spread yourself too thin, get organised now, so you can go all-in on the things that matter most to you over the down-time.

What are some of your strategies for getting through the festive season? Share your tips - I would love to know.
